Delete your Drinkyin account

This page explains how to delete your Drinkyin account and the data linked to it, and what — if anything — we keep afterwards.
Never created an account? Then we hold nothing about you. Everything you logged is stored only on your device. Delete it in the app with Settings → Data → Clear data / Reset, or by uninstalling the app (in a browser: clear the site data for https://drinkyin.com).
Option 1 — Delete it in the app (fastest)
- Open Drinkyin and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap your avatar in the top-right corner to open Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account, read the confirmation, and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately: your account and everything synced to it are removed from our database, and you are signed out. The same steps work in the web app at https://drinkyin.com.
Option 2 — Ask us by email
If you cannot sign in any more, email [[PRIVACY_EMAIL]] from the address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my account".
- We verify the request by replying to that address. We will never ask for your password or for identity documents.
- We delete the account within 30 days of verifying the request, and email you when it is done.
What gets deleted

What we keep, and for how long
- Backups. Copies in rolling backups are overwritten within 30 days.
- Server and security logs — technical request data such as IP address and time, without your drink data — are kept for up to 30 days.
- Email about your request. If you asked by email, that correspondence is kept for up to 24 months so we can show the request was honored.
- Legal obligations. Anything the law requires us to keep, only for as long as it requires.
- Public content already seen. We cannot recall public check-ins that other people have already seen or saved.
Delete some data without deleting your account
- One log: open it from Today or History and delete it.
- Stop reminders or Health Connect mirroring: Settings → Drink Reminders, and Settings → Privacy & Health.
- Stop syncing a device: Settings → Account → Sign out. This also clears Drinkyin's data on that device.
- Clear a device: Settings → Data → Clear data / Reset. If you are signed in, your synced data stays in your account and comes back the next time the device syncs.
